What is vertical tragus piercing?
One of the variations of tragus piercing, vertical tragus piercing is the perforation of the tragus made vertically at the edge. However, unlike tragus piercing, the piercing runs though the small fold of cartilage and comes out from the same side, instead of the other side. Also known as sideburn piercing, it suits those with a well-developed tragus.

Vertical tragus piercing pain
As the piercing involves two points on the tragus, it is likely to hurt more than tragus piercing. On a pain scale of 1 to 10, it has been rated somewhere between 4 and 7 as not everyone has the same pain threshold.

It is more convenient to wear curved barbells for this piercing as ball closure rings and labret studs cannot fit in well.
